Learn How to Meditate with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Meditation and mindfulness are very trendy these days, and you will find these words glorified all over the internet and social media. While it is very true that a regular meditation practice can be life changing (and you will see people claiming this everywhere you look), there are so many misconceptions about what meditation is, what mindfulness is, how to do it, and how it helps. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique therapeutic model that essentially teaches HOW to meditate, without ever using the word. It is a very scientific and behavior based model that teaches specific skills (That can be customized to work for ANYONE) to facilitate the discovery of the self-as-context, the observer self, to facilitate the true practice of acceptance and mindful awareness, and to get back in touch with the intuitive part of you that can consistently make and commit to value based decisions. In addition to my specific training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I am also a Yoga and Meditation Instructor, which puts me in an expert role that can guide anyone to unlock the power of meditative practice and apply it to their life.
If you are interested in learning to meditate, seeing an ACT therapist would really help lay some groundwork for bringing true meditation into your day to day life.
